What is Dental Bonding?

Dental bonding is a procedure in which a durable plastic material called resin, typically tooth-colored, is applied to the affected area. Once this resin has been shaped to match the surrounding tooth or teeth, the excess resin is trimmed off, and then hardened and bonded to the tooth using a special light. This new bonded tooth is polished to create the perfect, natural looking smile solution.

Although dental bonding looks natural and can be completed in one visit, the material used is not as strong as your natural tooth and as a result, you are more open to stains or chips than you would be if you had porcelain dental veneers.

On average, your new smile with dental bonding should last from three to five years.
